We know that it can be a little unnerving to come and be a part of something new. This is especially true when you are unsure about some of the details that matter to you personally. If you have questions about Emmaus Bible Church the website is a helpful place to look around and get some answers. We have information about what to expect on Sunday mornings, what we believe, our leadership, and how to get connected.
At the same time, we understand that a web site can not answer every question, so if you have further questions, please feel free to visit the contact us page and one of our leaders will get back to you.
Sunday Mornings
Our Sunday morning worship gatherings begin at 10:00. We do
what Christians have been doing for centuries; read the Scriptures, pray, sing
songs and hymns, sit under the preaching of the Scriptures and partake of
communion. The preaching of God's Word is a highlight for us. The
pastor is committed to drawing out the
author's intended meaning from the text and offering clear, practical
and
straight forward application. Our practice is to work through whole
books of the Bible and continue to see what God has to say to us as a
church.
Overall, the focus of our time is Jesus-Centered. We aim to be humbled by our sin and overjoyed by the reality of the work of Christ in the gospel for us. Nursery is available for infants through toddlers during all services. There is an age appropriate class for children up to age 5 during the preaching (don't worry, we'll let you know when the kids are dismissed). Dress is casual. People wear what is comfortable. The focus remains on Jesus.
Getting Started
If you would like to get some more information about Emmaus Bible Church
or would like to become a member, then the Getting Started Class is
right for you. This
4 week class aims to familiarize you with life and ministry at Emmaus.
The class is taught by Pastor Erik, but you will also spend time with
Pastors Josh & Dave, along with the Deacons and Care Group leaders. We typically have a class beginning every other month. If you would like more information about a class please visit the contact page or the welcome center on Sunday morning.
Care Groups
Care Groups meet in various homes throughout Sarpy County on the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoons and evenings. The
basic format for our time together is study & discussion, singing,
prayer and fellowship. This setting is designed to foster spiritual
growth through gospel-centered community. (for more info see the Care Groups page)
